Author Lisette Auton Visits Percy Hedley School

Recently, Percy Hedley School was blessed with a visit from children’s author Lisette Auton.

Lisette is a disabled writer, activist and creative practitioner based in Darlington and the author of middle grade novels such as The Secret of Haven Point and The Stickleback Catchers.

In partnership with the Live Theatre, she visited to give students from both PHS and Northern Counties School in Jesmond a workshop on the writing process. With plenty of help from props and her own characters, she walked students through the art of creating a story.

With the help of Live Theatre, students will undergo several workshops where they will learn about writing, set design, artwork and production before they put their plans into motion.

This is all in preparation for when students put on their own theatre production at the Live Theatre, Newcastle in December this year.
