About Us

Wansbeck House is located in Jesmond with access to the local community and Newcastle City Centre being only a short walk away. We are a high-quality specialist service for young adults with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities who are aged 17-30 and accessing educational or activity provision within Percy Hedley Foundation.

All residents have personalised specialist programmes and care plans to support their development in communication, independence and employability skills helping them make the successful transition into adulthood.

Living with Us

We offer various residential options which are tailored to meet individual requirements. Placements consist of 52 weeks or 36 weeks, corresponding with the education/day service requirements, we also offer 4 night Monday – Thursday placements which are term time only. We currently aren’t offering respite services at this time.

We are a small team and boast a homely environment where residents are able to access their chosen activities with trained, quality staff supporting them live their best lives.

We work in a person-centred way and like to support the residents in our care to plan and achieve any goals they have, big or small. We know how important independence is and always look to support residents to be as independent as possible and we offer a supportive environment to do this.
