This year, Harry Bucknall took on the UK’s largest half marathon with a team of staff members who volunteered to help Harry achieve his dream of completing the Great North Run.

Harry trained for months in the lead-up to tackling 13.1 miles from Newcastle to South Shields while raising much-needed funds for The Percy Hedley Foundation. Harry attends Percy Hedley as a member of Hedley’s Horizons adult day service and has been within the foundation for almost 20 years.

In the weeks before the Great North Run, Harry’s efforts were picked up by the local news on ITV Tyne Tees, where Harry and Physiotherapist Assistant Andrew, said a few words.

Harry understands firsthand how important fundraising is for providing the highest quality care, equipment, and education for people with complex disabilities in the North East and so far, has raised almost £2000! Nearly double his target!

You can still donate to Harry’s fundraiser to support him, and the Foundation with the link below.

Team Harry managed to finish the Great North Run far quicker than their anticipated 4 hours… they managed it in 2 hours and 45 minutes. A huge achievement and we’re incredibly proud of the team.
