Family Information and PTA News. 14th October 2022
I’ve enjoyed some more face to face encounters with parents/carers this term. For parents who drop their children at school, I’ve been outside most mornings/afternoons. Do feel free to come and talk to me if there is anything on your mind. I’ve also enjoyed meeting some of you at the first of the departmental coffee afternoons this week. The remaining 3 take place next week.
I’ve seen some posts about the Mini and Junior Great North Runs and know a number of our students were involved. Next week I aim to share some photos in the hopes that they will inspire other families.

Christmas Card Orders
We are into our third year working with a company which turns your child’s art into Christmas cards and more. I’ve had some lovely feedback this week from parents who said they look forward to receiving them. The company that produces them is a real pleasure to deal with and I hope you enjoy them when they arrive. Today was the deadline for orders, but I know a few children were off sick so I can accept them until Tuesday 18th. It is quite time consuming collating orders, but worth it. Hence a shorter blog this week

Activity.
I thought I would share with you some of the things we have been asked to support, just to give you an idea of the difference a PTA makes in school.
True Colours:
We have agreed to fund a few days of activities in December with True Colours Theatre Group. These were extremely successful last term.
Outdoor Learning Space.
We have been asked to fund puppets, which will be used to enrich and enhance Outdoor Learning sessions for the Engagement classes. They are used as part of a sensory story meets forest school session. They play the characters and they interact with the students throughout the story, allowing the students to get immersed and truly feel part of it. They are a real benefit to the session as the students love to interact with the puppets. Now this sounds like fun.
MOVE Activity Days.
Last year the wonderful, creative MOVE team brought your children some wonderful interactive days. Although mainly for the engagement pathway, they adapt so that the whole school is involved. This year, they will do 3 big events at the end of Autumn, Spring and Summer terms. At each half term there will be class based activities and the committee has agreed to support resources.
We are open to ideas from parents too, so if you have ideas send them in.
