Family Information and FOPHS News Friday 17th May 2024

More leftover gifts from Christmas, more options for the ladies and family circumstances. As a former parent I valued these as they teach children about giving to others. The student council love setting up and running them; the students enjoy choosing gifts for their dad/male carer/significant male figure in their life.

Unfortunately, they have had very few donations and are considering cancelling which would be a shame. Please help if you can do so and send donations in for the attention of Amanda/Kayden.

Please activate these on receipt as there is a short window for this, after which North Tyneside Council will cancel them and they cannot be re-issued. If you don’t receive these and think your child is eligible, please get in touch with me. I attach the form; if you check page 4, the eligibility criteria are there. Contact me if you need further assistance.

There is an online form to complete. If you need support with this, please contact me and I will do it with you. We want, as a school to support parents/carers with what we do in school and Becky has put in a lot of time with different cohorts. The aim is to arrange training sessions for parents/carers if there is sufficient demand. If you can’t get to the sessions, she will be recording, but needs the reply slips back please.

IBIZA style fun!!

They are closed Bank Holiday Monday 27th May.

**No booking required however our facilities are only available to members during the holidays. Outdoor activities are weather depending. **

Membership is £20 per year per family. Additional entry charges apply for each child.

A word of caution: It can get very busy in the school holidays so if quiet and peaceful is what your child needs, I would suggest contacting them before you visit for advice on quieter times.

School Photos:

The final batch, Key Stage 4 accreditation and Post 16 will be taken on Monday. We do a catch up on Wednesday afternoon for those not in on the Monday. The first batch have been sent out from ELTBA (lower school), though there are a few outstanding so, if you requested and haven’t yet received the proofs, they will go out early next week. These are on a pay-as-you-feel basis with a minimum suggested donation of £5, for which you receive digital versions by email. You may pay by cash if preferred; just send cash via escort, addressed to me and hand to staff.

Cresswell Towers 3–4-night stay.

There are still plenty of numbers left for the number generator raffle for a short stay at Cresswell Towers Caravan Park. This is open to anyone. It is a 3 bed (1 double, 2 twin room) respite caravan which has level access via decking. Please see the poster below. Each number costs £3; you can pay by cash, cheque (payable to Percy Hedley Foundation) or QR code. If you use the latter which is easy, remember to reset the “tip” to zero at the checkout. If you already have a justgiving account (either because you’ve donated before or done a fundraiser using this platform), your details will have been saved which makes it even easier. We will draw this on the 20^th of June at the FoPHS meeting. You will be able to book dates within school holidays. Unfortunately, it is not possible to take your 4-legged friends with you. Entertainment passes can be purchased separately, and no deposit will be required to book your stay at the caravan. All you will need to take with you is towels as the beds are made up.
