Family Information and FOPHS News Friday 17th May 2024

Welcome to Percy Hedley School's Family Liaison Blog!

It has been a warmer week weather wise, and it feels like summer is nigh.

School Academic calendar. We have had some parents query the training day scheduled for Friday 24th May, having searched in google. This had to be changed in September due to a clash with the exam schedule and the new calendar was circulated. We have spoken with our communications team, who have taken action, but it may take time before google refreshes and removes it. The school website was updated in September when the change was made, and we apologise if anyone has been inconvenienced.

Please use the school website rather than google search as we have no control over when google updates occur.

Events next week:

Monday 20th May: School photos Accreditation pathway (Key Stage 4 and Post 16)

Wednesday 22nd May: Post 16 coffee afternoon 14-15.00. I understand that parents of those moving up to Post 16 in September are invited.

Thursday 23rd May: Engagement Pathway coffee afternoon 14-15.00

FoPHS News

We had a meeting yesterday; thanks to those who attended, sent apologies, and contacted us. We spent some time discussing the Outdoor learning Area which is a focus this year and will share developments with you.

This week’s I thought I would end with a summer themed quote, and I love this one. I would add in and the BBQ is fired up.

“A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawnmower is broken.”
