New Forest School at Northern Counties opens!

We are pleased to announce that our new Forest School opened last week, 19th September at our Northern Counties school in Jesmond, Newcastle.

Our Forest School has been possible due to a grant of £15,000 from the Masonic Charitable Foundation. This was part of the MCF awards in 2017 where we were delighted to win a share of £3 million.

The outdoor space will provide a unique learning environment which will enable children to develop their self-confidence, language and physical skills and help relieve stress and anxiety.

Huge thanks are due to the Masonic Charitable Foundation for their generous donation, funds from The Mel Weir Charitable Trust towards this project and a huge thanks to everybody who voted for us last year!

We were lucky enough to also have support from local landscape designer Brad Docherty from One Landscapes who worked on the project as well as Cowell’s Garden Centre.

Helping with digging and planting were teams of volunteers from Virgin Money and CDC Wealth Management Ltd, a Chartered Financial Planning firm- weeding and the planting over 200 plants!

Thanks again to everybody involved, this Forest school will be enjoyed by our students for years to come!
