MOVE Fest 2023

See how Percy Hedley School celebrated MOVE Fest

On July 6th, Percy Hedley School hosted MOVE Fest!

MOVE Fest was the theme for MOVE Day 2023, and was a chance for students to not only have a fun day practicing MOVE skills, but also have the opportunity to explore activities related to the many festivals that happen across the summer.

There were several stations, including Splash the Duck where students used water guns to knock rubber ducks off, a Rock Out Stage where students could rock out on inflatable guitars, limbo, and a chill out zone for after all the fun.

The MOVE programme is a functional activity and goal-based programme designed to teach basic functional motor skills to those with complex physical needs.

The students loved it, going around all of the different stages and having a taste of what festivals are like.

Rock Ptarmigans enjoyed their turn on the activities offered as part of MOVE Fest. Here is some remarks about it from the students:

Logan said, “It was entertaining and I enjoyed the time out of the classroom.”
Rosie stated, “There were lots of fun activities.”

Dylan commented, “It helped us get some extra steps for the day.”
