Family Information and FOPHS News Thursday 28th March 2024

Welcome to Percy Hedley School's Family Liaison Blog!

I want to wish all our families a very Happy Easter. May you have good weather, opportunities to do things at home and in the community that make you happy. Take time to relax and remember that we re-open on Monday 15th April.

We would like to recruit some parents, carers, family members to help with the Outdoor Learning area. There may be other opportunities to help in school; please contact me if you have any thoughts on it. FoPHS can always benefit from your support and, in turn your children benefit. We can get volunteer DBS for those coming in regularly.

This will be a shorter blog; I have shared information extensively over the last few weeks on activities etc. What would be helpful would be knowing if you find these helpful and if there is anything I could do to make them better. Over to you….

Online Safety

The link to the Online safety information can be found on the school website under the heading “Parent and carers area”, then “online safety” from the dropdown menu.

Personal Assistant Training

I have shared this a few times and would appreciate some feedback if any of our families took up the offer of free training for PA’s.

Daydream Cinema: Thursday 4th April

A day of Relaxed Screenings celebrating neurodiversity at Gosforth Civic Theatre between 10-18.00.

Smile Through Sport

Just a reminder of their Easter activities.

FoPHS News

We have now started our number generator, with a prize of a 3–4-night stay in a caravan at Cresswell Towers. Each number is £3, and the draw will be done during one of our FoPHS meetings. This could be as soon as 16th May if numbers sell quickly.

I like to end my blogs with a quote or two. Here are my Easter offerings:

“The great gift of Easter is hope.” — Basil Hume

“The Easter egg symbolizes our ability to break out of the hardened, protective shell we’ve surrounded ourselves with.” — Siobhan Shaw
