Both Northern Counties School and Percy Hedley School celebrated World Book Day, with incredible costumes based on their favourite book characters and fun-filled activities.

Northern Counties School

Staff and students got involved in World Book Day, with costumes including a dragon, pirates, witches and many more.

Activities included a Where’s Wally phonics hunt where students searched the school grounds for photos of Where’s Wally. Each photo was accompanied by a letter and students had fun creating the best and longest words.

They also decorated wooden spoons to look like their favourite book characters. Characters included Harry Potter, Dory from Finding Nemo, and the Gruffalo.

Percy Hedley School

There were costumes galore between staff and students and Percy Hedley School, including some popular characters from books such as The Snail and the Whale, What The Ladybird Heard, Matilda, of course, every child’s favourite book, as we had one child even dressed as The Highway Code!

Children had a fantastic time with activities based on their favourite books, with arts and crafts and lots of reading.
