Regional Audit Report

Regional Audit Report

Statement from David Arthur, Chair of The Percy Hedley Foundation:

“In October 2020, the consortia of 12 North East local authorities initiated a regional audit covering the services that the Foundation provides for children and young people.  The Percy Hedley team engaged openly and transparently throughout the audit process with the NE12 team; and the councils thanked the team for this co-operative approach

The report, published today (11 November 2022), identified strengths as well as differences in the quality of services delivered by the Foundation’s settings for children and young people.

The Trustees fully accept the findings from the audit and have been taking firm and focussed actions to drive change. The Foundation’s Governance Improvement Group oversee progress against our comprehensive improvement plan. The Executive team has continued to work closely with the NE12 team since the audit and through a new leadership team are focussing on making improvements across the board.

As Chair of The Percy Hedley Foundation, I can say with great confidence that we are listening and acting on any feedback that helps us improve our services whilst embedding a learning culture.  This continues to reflect the commitment of our Trustees and staff to provide excellent services for our students, residents and members.

At The Percy Hedley Foundation, we pride ourselves on almost 70 years of supporting children and young people so that they can flourish. To that end, our priority is to provide safe, and quality led services for our beneficiaries.”
