Local students shine at Jesmond Community Festival Art Exhibition!
A dedicated group of students from Northern Counties school took centre stage at this year's Jesmond Community Festival, as their artwork became the highlight of the vibrant Community Art Exhibition hosted at St Hilda’s Parish Church.
The young artists had the exciting opportunity to design and display their creations in a professional setting, visiting the church a day ahead of the event to see their work beautifully showcased for the public.
The exhibition was more than just a display of talent- it was a valuable experience for the students, particularly those from the Percy Hedley Foundation, offering them a platform to express themselves creatively, build confidence and connect with the wider community in a meaningful way. Events like this play a crucial role in supporting their personal development and encouraging a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
In addition to the stunning artwork, visitors enjoyed a lively cartooning workshop, a portrait painter demonstrating their craft and a talented children’s dance group entertaining the crowds. The Percy Hedley Foundation also participated actively, running a stall that showcased handcrafted earrings and bracelets made by Foundation members, which proved to be a popular attraction.
