Family Liaison and PTA updates 3 December 2021

As we approach the final 2 weeks of this term there are lots of things happening in school which will be shared with you in John’s blog. I hope to see more parents/carers, COVID permitting at one of these events.

If you have information you feel would be useful to other families, please forward to me for inclusion in the blog.

Morrison’s It’s good to grow

Imagine my surprise when I received the final notification of tokens collected, believing it to be around 750 and finding out it was 2286. Hannah, our outdoor learning Tutor has sent me a wish list and I have submitted the order which will be delivered between January and March! So, we will have an insect hotel, kneeling pads, child’s hand trowels, butterfly attracting annuals, herbs and flower pots. Thanks to everyone who supported; it really does make a difference.

Activities:

Disability cricket hubs launching next week across the region.
Great chance to make friends and experience a new sport.

PTA

We will hold our next meeting via Microsoft Teams on Thursday 13th January 2022 at 13.30. It would be lovely to have some more parents join; more hands make light work, or so they say. As well as discussing PTA business, we are regularly joined by our Parent Governor and Head Teacher. We are happy for the PTA to be used to further enhance home/school communication but would ask that you let the Chair (Donna Jones) know in advance if there is anything specific you wish added to the agenda.

The committee is mindful of the restrictions which have been part of school life for almost 2 years now and has gone above and beyond to provide financial support for  in-school activities. We have also funded outdoor benches and resources for MOVEing to Winter Wonderland. We will provide funds too for students who are baking for the outdoor Carols planned for the day before school breaks up and for the refreshments.

100 Club

Have you joined? If so, thank you, especially those who have taken more than 1 number and got friends and family involved. We are up to 43, still some way to go. Funds raised from the 100 Club specifically fund our annual memberships which cost around £265 per annum. There is a form below, and I have paper copies on request. Payment can be done by BACS; contact me if you prefer to do it this way

Online Pantomime: Aladdin

We have funded 2 previous online Pantomimes from Theatre Online and had some good feedback. We agree to fund their latest production Aladdin which will be watched in school this month.
