Family Information and FOPHS News Thursday 2nd April 2026

With the clocks going forward on Sunday it feels as though winter has finally departed. School has been busy as you would expect in the lead up to the Easter holidays. We’ve had Egg-cited to MOVE, Preparing for Adulthood parent Forum, a resilience day and an Easter fayre. Those are the bigger events as I am sure classes have had their individual things going on too.

School closes for the Easter holiday today at 15.30 and reopens to staff and students on Monday 20th April.

School Calendars:

You will find links below to the school calendars. The events one needs to be updated but am confident staff in departments will have kept you up to speed.

Our next Preparation for Adulthood Forum will be on Wednesday 6th June from 9.30-11.00 where we will cover:

  • Mental Capacity Act
  • Mencap signposting
  • Deputyship
  • Lasting Power of Attorney
  • Wills and Trusts

Free School Meals:

I have had a few enquiries about the vouchers supplied by North Tyneside for those in receipt of income related free school meals. Last year this changed. Vouchers for holidays are supplied twice a year; currently £65 in December and another £65 in July.

If you change your email address, please let me know so that I can update them; the vouchers come direct from them.

I have sent the letter last year. Just in case you missed or forgot, here is the link again:

My Easter linked thought for the week:

“Easter is the only time when it’s perfectly safe to put all your eggs in one basket.”
