The Percy Hedley Foundation has three main sites providing specialist education, adult day services and residential care to our service users. Our sites are based in Forest Hall, Killingworth, and Jesmond.

The Role

As an Apprentice IT Support Technician, you will work as part of a small, friendly and supportive team. You will learn how to:

  • Provide first-line IT support to staff across the organisation
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops and mobile devices
  • Set up and configure new equipment for users
  • Support user accounts, passwords, and basic Active Directory functions
  • Learn about cloud technologies such as Microsoft 365
  • Assist with IT asset management and documentation

You’ll gain hands-on experience with modern IT systems while building your technical knowledge through structured training and real-world application.

Training:

You will work towards the Level 3 IT Support Technician apprenticeship standard.

Career Progression:

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity to:

  • Progress to a permanent role within the IT team
  • Specialise in a particular area (e.g. End User Support, Infrastructure, or Cybersecurity)
  • Continue your development with a Level 4 or Higher IT apprenticeship

You will work 37 hours per week, typically:

8.30 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Thursday

8.30 am to 4.00 pm Friday.

The post is temporary for the length of the apprenticeship, typically 18 months.
