International
Opportunities

At Northern Counties we are proud to offer International Opportunities to our students, widening their horizons and helping them to achieve their dreams.

New York Trip – March 2026

Following a successful bid to The Turing Scheme, Northern Counties were awarded funding to take ten learners to New York on a theatre project.  Northern Counties have developed a link with Fordham School for the Arts in the Bronx, working closely with their Head of Theatre Arts, Linda Key. Learners have developed performance pieces around identity over Zoom calls and during the visit will be performing in front of 300 people at the town hall. During their stay, they will work with Fordham pupils to put together a BSL/ASL choir piece from the show ‘Kinky Boots’ and also take part in a fashion show reflecting the collaborative project.

Learners will also have the opportunity to see a show on Broadway, see the Statue of Libery, sing with performers at Ellen’s Stardust Diner and watch an all American sporting event.

More information and photos to come.

Northern Counties have been awarded the Foundation level of the British Council’s prestigious International School Award in recognition of its work to bring the world into the classroom.

The International School Award celebrates the achievements of schools that do exceptional work in international education. Fostering an international dimension in the curriculum is at the heart of the British Council’s work with schools, so that young people gain the cultural understanding and skills they need for life and work in today’s world.
