Students accessing the informal pathway are in the early stages of developing skills in communication and interaction, shared attention and engaging in their environment. Students making progress in this pathway are taught using minimal demands through a range of specific strategies to build up tolerance so they are ready for semi-formal learning.
All staff follow a ‘flow of the day’ approach to the individual pupils timetable, this ensures that learning time is maximised alongside student regulation.
