Easter Extravaganzas Across the Foundation

It’s safe to say the Foundation has enjoyed some egg-cellent Easter celebrations recently!

Percy Hedley School Easter MOVE

Percy Hedley School kicked off Easter celebrations with a themed MOVE event.

The MOVE Programme is a functional activity and goal-based programme designed to teach basic functional motor skills to those with complex physical needs, and this instalment was certainly an exciting one.

Pupils enjoyed an easter egg hunt, shooting water guns, egg and spoon races and more!

Friends of Percy Hedley School (FoPHS) also kindly donated Easter Eggs or a sensory alternative for pupils to enjoy.

Widow Sons Visit to Hedleys College and Northern Counties

The Widow Sons arrived in style at both Hedleys College and Northern Counties in a motorbike convoy.

Parking up their bikes, the Widow Sons then let our learners hop on, including trying on their special helmets and gloves. Our learners loved revving the engines and pretending to have road rage!

RAF Easter Eggs Visit to Northern Counties

The Royal Air Force made a special visit to Northern Counties pupils to share what it’s like to work in such an exciting role.

Pupils asked questions such as “What’s your favourite place you’ve been?” and “Do you have any deaf people in the RAF?”. Evie-Jean, who is still in celebration mode after Newcastle United’s win at the Carabao Cup also asked if they knew footballer Dan Burn – who unfortunately they did not! The visit was rounded off with some easter eggs, which of course went down a treat.

Northern Counties Easter Disco

What better way to break up for the Easter holidays than to have an Easter Disco?

Pupils enjoyed a top-notch party with some even taking charge on DJ decks to get everyone in the disco mood. The Easter Bunny also made a special appearance, dancing with staff and learners.
