We are looking for volunteers to come and cheer on our #TeamPercyHedley runners at the Great North Run.
The Great North Run is the largest half marathon in Europe and is famous for its amazing atmosphere and crowd! This year we have around 100 runners taking on this challenge and are aiming to raise over £25,000 from the event to support disabled children and adults. Our runners have put in months of training and hard work fundraising so we think they deserve the biggest cheers out there on the course!
What you’ll be doing
- As a Cheer Point Volunteer you will be cheering on our runners and boosting morale along the course by showing your support.
- We will send you a full brief before the day, as well as providing you with a Percy Hedley Foundation t-shirt and cheer materials to make sure you’re all set to cheer your heart out in support of our amazing runners!
The event is on 9th September and we would require you to volunteer from approx 9am – 2pm. We are looking for volunteers to cheer at two areas:
- Newcastle Cheer Point: Help our runners get off to the best start by cheering them on at start of the race as they set off
- South Shields Cheer Point: Near the end of the race, to cheer the runners on their final stretch.
Or if you can set up a Cheering Point at any other place on along the run then we’d also love to hear from you.
