Director of Children's Services

Norman Stromsoy M.A., Adv. Dip SE

Norman Stromsoy was appointed Director of Children's Services in January 2005. He came to the Foundation in 1988 as Head Teacher or Percy Hedley Schools. Norman has thirty years experience of working with children who have special educational needs, including EBD, learning, psychiatric, physical disabilities and communication difficulties. He has been a Head Teacher for seventeen years, twelve of which as head of a large school for physical disabilities judged outstanding by the Chief Inspector of Schools. He is also a Schools OfSTED Inspector.

Having initially trained to work in special schools, Norman Stromsoy holds a range of advanced qualifications in special education. These include: Certificate in Special Education (Distinction); Advanced Diploma in Reading Development (OU); Advanced Diploma in Special Education; Diploma in Educational Management; M.A. Educational Development (Research).
