Head Occupational Therapist

Stewart's main role is as head occupational therapist within the Percy Hedley Foundation, however, he has had a career-long interest in the field of disability sports for over 25 years and has accumulated vast experience in sports development, coaching and classification from local up to international levels. His main interest is working with people who have higher levels of disability and as such he has specialised in sports like Boccia, athletics and lately powerchair team sports such as football and rugby.

Stewart's main focus at the moment is the development of a classification system for powerchair football with the aim of the system being adopted by the international federation (FIPFA) and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).

Within the Academy Stewart supports the Boccia Club held on Monday evenings and works with the Academy sports development staff offering advice and training as appropriate.
