Jo Allen B.Ed, B.Phil (Sp. Ed. Hearing Impairment), NPQH

Jo joined Percy Hedley in 2007 having taught science to secondary age pupils in a range of mainstream and special schools. She qualified as a teacher of physics at Northumbria University in 1994 and as a teacher of the deaf at the University of Birmingham in 2004. Prior to joining Percy Hedley she worked as Assistant Head in a bilingual school for the Deaf and has experience of working with deaf and hearing impaired students since 2000.

Jo has experience in working with pupils who have learning difficulties, hearing impairment and emotional and behavioral difficulties. She has a particular interest in supporting deaf pupils with complex needs and ensuring they have the best opportunities to succeed.

Jo is currently in the final year of studying towards an MSc in Educational Audiology at Oxford's Brookes University.
