Percy Hedley Celebrates National Volunteers Week
1st - 7th June 2009
The Percy Hedley thank you card, designed by Percy Hedley Primary School pupil, Michael Dumphy (aged 7)
Volunteering is about giving up time to help others and here at Percy Hedley we have volunteers helping out in a wide range of roles. They sit on committees, give us advice, help with organising events, help out in our schools and adult services in a wide variety of ways and they ask for nothing in return.
National Volunteers Week was the perfect time to acknowledge their valuable work and each area of Percy Hedley Foundation acknowledged their volunteers in their own special way. A thank you card (shown above) was sent by the Fundraising Department to all its regular volunteers - with thanks to Percy Hedley Primary School pupil, Michael Dumphy aged 7 years for his 'Happy Face' design.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a very special and heartfelt thank you to anyone and everyone that volunteers in any way to benefit the children, adults and families with whom we work.
Volunteers are cheered in a special assembly in their honour at Percy Hedley Primary School
Foundation CEO, Dr Tony Best added, "It needs a very special person to work in the Foundation services, and we are very lucky to have such outstanding people who are willing to give up their time to help the people we support. I know that those people, and their families, want me to take this opportunity to thank our volunteers for their valuable contribution over the past year."
