Percy Hedley Mistletoe Ball 2008

Hosted by Wendy Gibson, the Percy Hedley Mistletoe Ball at the Hilton Hotel was a glamorous occasion assisted by ice maidens from Voila! Waitressing of Central Newcastle High School and stilt walking snow queens.

Thoroughly enjoyed by more than 400 guests, the night's entertainment included The Godfather of Swing, Eddie Lennie Jr singing 'Just Like an Angel' which he has written as a tribute to his son and all the other children at Percy Hedley School as well as music from the Lorraine Crosby Show.

Willie Thorn conducted the charity auction with fabulous prizes, including the first phase of astronaut training kindly donated by Worldview Spaceflight based in Newcastle.

The evening raised an amazing £80,000 towards a much needed new hydrotherapy pool to give disabled children the best start in life.

The evening was generously sponsored by Sunderland AFC, Cumbrian Seafoods, Pulman Volkswagen, Silverback Promotions, Tom's Companies, Sumo Design, Potts Printers and many others who bought tables and donated auction or raffle prizes.
