The Director of Adult Services at The Percy Hedley Foundation, David Barker, has been appointed to serve as a member of the North East Learning and Skills Council.

The membership is drawn from a variety of backgrounds and with experience in many different areas. Regional council members bring with them many years experience in different fields, from business, further and higher education, schools, the voluntary sector, local government and trade unions. The councils reflect both the local and regional needs of learners and employers.

James Ramsbotham, Regional Chair, LSC North East said:

"I welcome the new regional council and I am delighted to have opportunity to work with such a broad spectrum of professionals from the North East who will, I am sure, drive the learning and skills agenda forward."
