Money Pours in at Summer Fair !

The Percy Hedley Summer Fair on 5th July 2008, opened by BBC Weatherman, Paul Mooney, was a great success regardless of the weather.

BBC Weatherman, Paul Mooney, opens the Summer Fair.

Residents of the local community, along with staff and pupils braved the rain and supported this event, raising more than £6,000.

The afternoon was generously supported by Fenwick Ltd, Halfords Silverlink, Hilton Hotel Newcastle-Gateshead, Eversheds, Irwin Mitchell and many other local businesses.

Despite torrential rain all afternoon, the band kept playing, the stalls stayed open, the barbeque kept burning and smiles remained on the faces of the volunteers and visitors. Our fabulous celebrity, Paul Mooney, kept everyone's spirits up, staying at the fair all afternoon and even selling off his umbrella for the cause.

A lovely afternoon was had by all.
