Alternative Business Awards and Infamy Academy 'Talent' Show raised £17,000 for Percy Hedley Foundation

A host of budding entertainers from the business community enjoyed their five minutes of fame on Friday 7th September 2007, all part of the evening's entertainment at the Alternative Business Awards, sponsored by Northumbrian Water and other leading businesses in the region.
The event, held at the Tyne Theatre, takes a light-hearted look at the achievements of the region's business personalities, with 15 award categories decided on the night supported by the Infamy Academy 'musical showcase'.
The coveted prize for Alternative Business Person of the Year, went to Alec Coles of Tyne & Wear Museums, who earlier had wowed audiences with a rendition of the Oasis classic 'Wonderwall' in the event's musical showcase.
