John Laing Powerchair Cup

John Laing employees meet the Percy Hedley Panthers.

Mike White and the John Laing Social Infrastructure team from Newcastle, presented a cheque for £10,000 from the John Laing Charitable Trust, as sponsor of the first National Powerchair Rugby Competition being held at the Percy Hedley Wooden Spoon Sports Academy on 21st and 22nd July.

A social event will also be held at Kingston Park, in association with Newcastle Falcons on the evening of Saturday 21st July.

This event promises to be memorable with the opportunity to be involved in the instigation and promotion of this new sport at national level with the aim of progressing to international status. Proceeds from the Evening Social Event will go towards the financing of additional Powerchairs, costing approximately £4,000 each, enabling many more young disabled people to participate in a physically challenging team activity.
