Eyes Open!

Some of the students in Post 16 and Sarah Gedney's class took part in an art competition this term called 'Eyes Open' to coincide with World AIDS Day. Apart from producing some fantastic art work the students' awareness of HIV and AIDS was raised through class based work culminating in a workshop by the Health and Community Team. All the students enjoyed the workshop and the team commented on how responsive and enthusiastic they were.

As a result of the standard of work entered all art work will be displayed at the Discovery Museum in Newcastle from 25 November until 8 January 2006 along with many other entries from schools, colleges and community groups. Special mention will be given to Jayne Huscroft, Brydie White and Adam Nichol whose art work was highly commended and will go forward to the regional finals.
