Northern Counties School was delighted to receive a new bus from the Variety Club at an official handover at St James' Park on 24th October.

Our biggest football fans came with Kerry Moore our Sports Development Officer, and Gill Houghton, our occupational therapist, to be given the bus by Les Ferdinand.

All of the children were thrilled to meet Les who chatted with them all, signed autographs and football shirts and then had lots of photographs taken.

The bus will make a real difference to all of the children in school who not only travel regularly to our other site at Percy Hedley for some joint lessons, but also further afield for outdoor activities, learning within the community and residential trips away.

The bus is fully accessible to all of our children and has already been taken to the Lake District by a group studying National Parks.
