Since Northern Counties 'School for Families' opened its doors on Thursday 2 February 2006, the reaction from children and their families across the region has been fantastic. We are really pleased with the initial response to this free service which offers the chance for pre-school children and a family member to learn new skills by working together in a relaxed and informal setting. Our new specialist teaching base for pupils on the autistic spectrum opened in January. The room was designed to incorporate work bays for individual teaching, a group teaching area, work space for movement and interaction and an additional area for quiet time and relaxation. More...
We were thrilled that so many parents and friends were able to join us for our Christmas performances this year. The assemblies were held on Wednesday 21 December, Primary children in the morning and older students in the afternoon. We were very proud of our students and the wonderful performances they gave. There was even a performance by some of the parents who have been attending our signing classes. Well done! More...

A personal friend of Matthew Lone's family, Iain Norton, mentioned to Matthew's dad a few months ago that he was planning to do a Coast to Coast bike ride (a mid life crisis brought on by hitting forty!). He wondered if Matthew's school would be willing to except some sponsorship money.
