Students may decide to attend a weekly exercise class, keep fit group, hydrotherapy or they may prefer individual stretching or pain management sessions. Functional skills are worked on individually and targets are set for the students to practise their skills in their daily education.

Speech and Language Therapy aims to help students to communicate effectively both in College and within the wider community and to support access to the curriculum. Therapists provide advice and management plans for students who have difficulties with eating and drinking.

Northern Counties College has a Total Communication approach including signs to support English, gesture, high tech, light tech and low tech communication system.

In order to achieve their potential in learning the College recognises the need for quality learning support and quality care.

Students are allocated to a personal tutor and a small group of support staff who will endeavour to get to know them very well in order to provide effective support in all aspects of the College experience.
