How to Apply
The college holds Open Days for prospective students and their parents and carers throughout the year and information is circulated to Connexions advisers and local schools. These are ideal opportunities to meet students, see the facilities and for informal discussions with college staff.
Please see the College Calendar to find out about the next Open Day.
Requests for visits at other times should be made to college admissions staff who will try to arrange a suitable date.
Potential students and their parents and carers should discuss their ideas with their Connexions Personal Adviser, who collate the paperwork for the Learning and Skills Council, prior to completing an application form for consideration for funding a place at the college.
Once an application is received the college will:-
- Acknowledge receipt of the application. Inform the prospective student we will be seeking information from their current educational provider.
- Invite the potential student for a 2 day visit where we will discuss options and gather more information to support the application.
- Complete an assessment and send it to the Connexions Personal Adviser.
- Write to the young person offering a place at the college subject to successful application for funding from the Learning and Skills Council.
Moving from school to college can be a worrying time and the college endeavours to make it as stress free as possible. Individual arrangements are made with students, their parents and carers and their school to assist in ensuring the transition is as smooth as possible.
