Accreditation

Photo: Gaining Life Skills - Using Public Transport. Many Students may gain accreditation through Edexcel Entry Level Certificate in Life Skills or Skills for Working Life. Other students will gain different qualifications that meet their needs such as AQA Entry Level Certificate in ICT or the City and Guilds Effective use of Alternative and Augmentative Communication. Some students will access local Further Education Colleges to gain accreditation when they have a particular skill in an area of the curriculum.

Northern Counties College uses the RARPA system to record progress and achievement in learning which is not formally accredited, for example, social and independent living skills. This approach puts the learner at the centre of learning and recognises steps in learning through rigorous assessment and setting appropriately challenging learning objectives.
