Mallorca Golf Tournament
In aid of the Percy Hedley Tim Carter Hydrotherapy Appeal
Real Golf Bendinat, 15th August 2009
Real Golf de Bendinat is situated near to Portals Nous in Mallorca
The Real Golf de Bendinat is situated near to Portals Nous in Mallorca. This stunning 18 hole par 70 course was designed by Charles Hawtree has wonderful views from every direction.
The course has, for many years been home to the Robert Winston charity golf tournament where more than one million euros has been raised in total to buy specialised minibuses and equipment for disabled children living on the island.
Real Golf de Bendinat has an extensive golf school for juniors and is the only club in Mallorca with a sector dedicated to golf tuition for disabled children.
The Club is holding a charity golf tournament on 15th August 2009 in aid of Percy Hedley Foundation's Tim Carter Hydrotherapy Appeal and this has come about because the club secretary is a Geordie and because of the friendship with the Carter family.
The appeal aims to raise £1.2 million to construct a new hydrotherapy pool at the North East special school for children with cerebral palsy, which will be named in Carter's honour
This is an open tournament and it is hoped that in addition to local players, any golfers from the North East who are in Mallorca on holiday in August will support the event. The format will be individual Stableford with a Shotgun start and entry fee including buggy is 65 euros and 10 euros for club hire. Snacks and drinks will be available on the course and there will be cocktails and a presentation of trophies to the winners and a prize draw.
To register for the tournament email: golfbendinat@terra.es or phone Alison Bradshaw on 00 34 971 405200 with details of name and handicap.
