'What Happens Next? - This time it's personnel' Event for disabled students
The Employability Project held a 'What Happens Next?' event on the Tuesday, 1st July, 2008 at Northern Counties College. The information event was aimed at current and potential students and parents accessing the services of the Percy Hedley Foundation.
Representatives from Northern Counties College, Northern Counties School Post 16 Unit and Percy Hedley School Post 16 Unit attended along with professionals with an interest in the subject.
Over 80 people attended the college to hear from young adults and knowledge experts in their field of employment and to visit the 13 information stands on display. Exhibitors such as The Lawnmowers, The National Trust, Dinamic Ceramics, Azure Charitable Enterprises, Employment Opportunities, Workable Solutions, Connexions, Mencap, Able2 Services, Bliss=Ability, VODA, South Shields Shopmobility and Job Centre Plus provided vital information for students and parents looking ahead and considering what does happen next?
Ruth Woodfine, Employability Project Manager said:
'This is the second time we have held an event on this subject and the increase in
attendance numbers has proven to us the demand for such an event. Students and parents
listened to young adults who are working or looking for work themselves and their input
had a massive impact on the audience listening.'
