Opportunities Develop for Employability Project & Azure

Azure Charitable Enterprises, Cramlington, are pleased to announce their support of The Percy Hedley Foundation's new Employability Project.

Based at Northern Counties College, the Employability Project will be working across the Percy Hedley Foundation, developing employability opportunities for disabled people. By organising work placements, visits and voluntary & paid work experience, the project will give students, service users and residents the opportunity to experience the world of work.

Azure recognised the significance of the project straight away and offered 2 work placements to Northern Counties College students John Thompson and Graeme Wilson. Both students attended Azure for 1 day a week over 6 weeks and worked in the horticultural part of the organisation.

John Gemmell, Senior Manager, Azure said: 'As an organisation that offers a range of services to disabled people throughout the North East, we understand the importance of supporting projects such as this. John & Graeme really enjoyed their work placement and I know Azure has benefited from the positive experience also. We'll look forward to working with the Employability Project in the future.'
