Powerchair Football

Powerchair Football is an exciting sport that is currently being developed all over the world with more countries wanting to take part in this great sport. The Percy Hedley Foundation gives the opportunity for anyone to get involved form beginners to the more advance teams who represent the Sports Academy in National Leagues. The Academy is proud to have been part of the sport since it first came to England.

The first training session in Powerchair Football is aimed at newcomers to the sport and is an introduction to the skills required to play the game as well as learning the rules. Using baby steps approach participants are encouraged to develop their ability to play this fast game at their own pace and there is progression through to the advanced session for those with the necessary ability. This session takes place on Thursdays between 4.30pm and 5.30pm and the cost is £3 per player.

The sports academy also runs a session for those who have progressed beyond the beginners group but not yet ready to play at the highest level. This club runs on a Tuesday between 5.30pm and 6.30pm and as commitment is required by the players attending a monthly payment of £15 per player is asked for.

The two other sessions the academy runs which take place on a Monday and Thursday night cater for the elite players based at the Academy. These sessions however are by invitation only although spectators are welcome to witness the sport at its highest level.

Registration

If you are interested in taking part in any of these activities please complete a registration form and return to the Sports Academy as soon as possible. Alternatively if you are looking to play a particular sport or are looking for somewhere to start a club please get in touch and we will try to assist you.

If none of these clubs are of interest to you or you have difficulty attending but wish to be kept informed of future developments, again please complete the form and return, stating this fact.
