Northern Thunder compete in the EPFA PowerChampion's League in France
The Northern Thunder EPCL team
Northern Thunder have just got back from playing in the European Powerchair Football Association (EPFA) PowerChampion's League in Douai, France.
They left on Thursday 6th November and returned on 10th November finishing in 6th place. In the squad they had the normal five players plus two extra for support, they were Cath McNicol and Chris Jackson.
Over the four days Northern Thunder had to compete against Aarhus Rolling Devils (Denmark), Charleroi (Belgium) and Kerpape (France).
The team were very happy with the results from the games and the level that they played at.
"The weekend was very successful for Northern Thunder even though finishing sixth suggests otherwise. Having two new members in the team for the special event give the team an added dimension in what were tough games. We played top teams from Denmark, Belgium and France eventually playing in the 5th and 6th play-off against Aspire. The goal conceded was controversial, but all in all I am happy with progress of the team". Faye Stevenson, Club Captain.
