Thunder Players in England Squad

Following on from the England Squad Selection Event held at Percy Hedley Sports Academy in April, five players from the Northern Thunder Powerchair Football Team have been selected for the England Squad that will play in the World Cup in Japan 2007.

The Northern Thunder Powerchair Football Team

Jamil Khan, Daniel Blake, Robert Thompson, Faye Stevenson and Edward Common were all selected to take part in the Squad Training weekends that will take place from June until departure for the World Cup.

"I am absolutely delighted for the players in achieving this. They have all come on really well as players and considering that some of them have only been playing for about 6 months this really is the icing on the cake following our 2nd place in the National League"

The Northern Thunder players are part of a squad of eight which includes three players from the London based team Aspire Hotspur.
